In this article, long-standing Chelsea fan – Kristian – will take a closer look at his favorite team and recommend his FPL picks from the blues squad.
Expectations from Chelsea 2022/23
“In the last season, we were disappointed by our Champions League results. However, the top-4 goal in Premier League was accomplished despite complications caused by changes in club management. Chelsea showed strong character and determination on the pitch.
However, in the 2022/23 season, I see us struggling. The top 4 is our goal again but I will not be shocked if will not achieve it and finish eighth.
I feel our team is weaker than last season as many players left the team. “
Expected Chelsea formation and the lineup
“We could play in 3-4-2-1 or 4-2-3-1 formation in 2022/23 season. I expect us to use 3-4-2-1 formation at the start of the season.”
Kristian’ Chelsea expected line up for the start of 2022/23
Mendy; Chalobah, Silva, Koulibaly; James, Jorginho, Gallagher, Chilwell; Sterling, Mount; Havertz
Chelsea FPL picks to consider
Kai Havertz
“After Lukaku departure, I fully expect Havertz to get more minutes this season. He does not have strong competition in this spot. His only real competitor for the central striker role is Armando Broja.
There is one stat that caught my eye last season. Havertz registered 0.9 big chances for 90 minutes – 7th best from all players.
I think, for 8.0 million, he is a differential to consider for FPL managers.”
Mason Mount
“I expect Mount to be our key player in the new season. I expect at least the same output from him (in terms of goals and assists) as he provided last season.
He is our talisman and I expected him and Sterling to be heavily involved in our goals.”
Chelsea Defence
“To be honest, I do not see us keeping as many clean sheets as last season. Our defense is weaker. So James’s and Chilwell’s owners in FPL will have to realy on their attacking points rather than points from clean sheets.”
