Now that we see that Gabriel Magalhaes is a rotation risk for Arsenal, it is time to consider his replacements for our FPL teams. Firstly we thought Gabriel would start the majority of the matches, but now after he missed GW2 and GW3 too, he is too big a risk to own. The change in the lineup was tactical but it is something that could repeat in the future.
Our view on best Gabriel replacements
You have multiple options when replacing Gabriel Magalheas:
- Focus on Chelsea assets: If you have some money in the bank, Chilwell (you can also consider Colwill and Gusto) are the best Gabriel replacement given Chelsea’s fixture run in GW2 – GW7. We prefer Chilwell, but you could even double up on Chelsea’s defense. If you do not have money in the bank, Colwill is also an option.
- Bring in overlooked Brentford defenders for their fixture run: Brentford defenders are hugely overlooked at the moment, but as they showed in the previous season, they can be great source of fantasy points. Brentford kept 12 clean sheets in the last season and players like Mee, Henry and Pinnock had 11 attacking returns between them.
- Gvardiol: Another option, Man City defenders sre overlooked, because they all are rotation risk. But if could be pick just the one, it would be Gvardiol. There will be clean sheets for City in the upcoming matches.
